Why the lame "Welcome" image for my very first blog post? Well, it's because it is the very first result in a google search for "Welcome" It's not a familiar image, I haven't seen it before, but somehow it is #1 for a very widely used greeting, so I feel that commands a little respect for the image, website and its creator...don't you? Being #1 on anything is an accomplishment, but when it comes to Google, it's money in the bank. There are some conventional ways to monetize the traffic, but I am sure someone will come out with a technology that will allow sites like this to cash in on this real estate. If anyone out there has some tips on how to make the most of a highly ranked image, please drop a note here for some extra karma points :-)
So why even discuss this? Well the internet fascinates me; from what you can do to what you can accomplish, the internet holds so much potential for human kind, the subjects for discussion are limitless. Personally I enjoy discussing anything in the digital space including marketing, for that is what I do every day. I'll be using this as a forum for rants, raves, discussions and ways to share my findings along my travels of the internet.
So for now, welcome!
